Many of the jobs that are being lost pay well and will have an immediate effect on the local housing market. Real estate experts said it means homes will go up for sale.

“Of course, in our industry, we’re talking, how is this going to change things?” said Jenna Jacupke, who works for Berkshire Hathaway Home-Service Ambassador Real Estate. “It’s probably going to affect the higher-end market more so than the rest of the market,” Jacupke said. “I think people are going to be OK as long as they understand they might need to be more competitive with price.”

“Nebraska Realty President Andy Alloway said ConAgra’s move is a blow to the Omaha community, but more homes for sale in their market could be a good thing.”
